12 Tips For Getting Your Home Ready To Sell
Get Prepared with these 12 Tips
The time has come to start getting yourself ready for not only the idea of change, but to start preparing your house for sale. People tend to think that a real estate agent can swoop in with a magic wand and sell a house in any condition. They can, but you shouldn’t expect to get top dollar for your house if it’s not in top dollar condition. Spending some time doing these 12 things, will help you get more money and make the selling and moving process much easier for you in the long run.
1. Clear out the clutter. You want buyers to focus on how awesome your space is, not how messy it looks. Unfortunately, we all collect an amazing amount of junk and what a better way to purge than to dread moving it into your new home. If you haven’t used it in over a year, you probably don’t need it! If you don’t need it, have a garage sale or donate it. Keep an itemize list of everything you donate and get a receipt from where you donate. PS- Donations are tax deductible.
When you’re decluttering, go ahead and pack up all your knickknacks and items that you want to take with you. The goal is to start minimizing and this gives you a head start on the packing you’ll be doing later at move time.
